Welcome to DottzGaming.com’s Magicka Templar PvP Healer Build, Heals and Dreams, for the Elder Scrolls Online! Tired of being wiped while playing PvP? Don’t know what to do to make your alliance succeed? The answer is to become a healer. This build will offer up the best that templars have when it comes to healing in both Cyrodiil and in Battlegrounds. This build is centered around no-CP, but a CP setup is also available at the end of this build for those who want to play in those campaigns.

NOTE: The study and impenetrable traits can be swapped around to any piece you want, just make sure you have 3 sturdy on your front bar and 5 impenetrable.

You can also go with 5 heavy and 2 light pieces rather than 5 heavy, 1 medium and 1 light.

Other options instead of Earthgore are Pirate Skeleton (Veteran Blackheart Haven and Gilirion the Redbeard’s Undaunted Chest) or Blood Spawn (Veteran Spindleclutch 2 and Maj al-Ragath’s Undaunted Chest) or Troll King (Veteran Blessed Crucible and Gilirion the Redbeard’s Undaunted Chest)

If someone in your group is already using Wizard’s Riposte, instead use Robes of Transmutation (Rewards of the Worthy/Guild Traders) and if someone is already using Robes of Transmutation, instead use Shroud of the Lich (Crypt of Hearts Dungeon)

All points into Magicka.

Main Bar – One Hand and Shield

  1. Aurora Javelin (Aedric Spear line morph of Piercing Javelin)
  2. Breath of Life (Restoring Light line morph of Rushed Ceremony)
  3. Absorb Magic (One hand and Shield morph of Defensive Posture)
    1. Elusive Mist (Vampire morph of Mist Form) can also be used here.
  4. Channeled Focus (Restoring Light line morph of Rune Focus)
  5. Extended Ritual (Restoring Light line morph of Cleansing Ritual)
  6. Spell Wall (One Hand and Shield line morph of Shield Wall)

Back Bar – Restoration Staff

  1. Luminous Shards (Aedric Spear line morph of Spear Shards)
  2. Purifying Light (Dawn’s Wrath line morph of Backlash)
  3. Radiant Glory (Dawn’s Wrath line morph of Radiant Destruction)
  4. Mutagen (Restoration Staff line morph of Regeneration)
  5. Healing Springs (Restoration Staff line morph of Grand Healing)
  6. Light’s Champion (Restoration Staff line morph of Panacea)

Note:  Luminous Shards can be difficult to use in a group of randoms since they can’t let you know when they need resources. Instead, you can use Repentance/Radiant Aura (Restoring Light line morph of Restoring Aura), Total Dark (Dawn’s Wrath line morph of Eclipse) or Degeneration (morph of Mage’s Guild skill Entropy).

If you want to keep Luminous Shards, but also want incorporate one of those other skills, you can use Total Dark in place of Aurora Javelin if you prefer it as a CC, and if you don’t want to get Major Sorcery from potions, feel free to replace Purifying Light or Radiant Destruction with Degeneration (morph of Mage’s Guild skill Entropy).

Mist Form isn’t a necessity anymore and is more of a preference nowadays. If you want to use Mist Form for the mobility, have it replace Absorb Magic.

Vampire vs. Werewolf vs. Mortal

Many people have asked why vampirism is no longer used in this build. In the current patch, unless you absolutely love mist form, it’s risky running it. Damage is high enough this patch, and vampirism just makes us take a little too much flame and Fighter’s guild damage. To compensate, the build really tries to focus around standing ones ground and being really hard to kill. If you want mist form though, feel free to still run it and substitute it in for one of the skills listed as indicated in the skills section. It can still work well!

Other Important Info

Buff Food

Longfin Pasty with Melon Sauce – Max Health, Magicka and Stamina

Atronach – Increased Magicka Recovery

  1. Argonian – Best race for a healer in PvP. You get bonus magicka, bonus health, bonus healing and an absolutely amazing form of sustain from their potion passive; you can be out of all resources and just by drinking one tri-pot be back to max health, magicka and stamina.
  2. Breton/High Elf/Dark Elf – All three are solid magicka classes, capable of aiding you in your healing task.
  3. Your choice – Racial Passives are not immensely important for a healer, your reactions and knowledge are much more important. If you want to play a different race, go ahead.

Spell Power Potions (Cornflower, Ladys Smock, Water Hyacinth): Spell Crit, Spell Damage, Magicka

Tri-Pots (Bugloss+Columbine+Dragonthorn): Restore Health, Magicka and Stamina

Note:  If you’re playing as an Argonian, you can also use the random potions you find around while questing in situations where the two above are not needed since you have the Argonian potion passive.

All class passives, all one hand and shield passives, all restoration staff passives, light armor (recovery, evocation, spell warding), medium armor (dexterity, wind walker, improved sneak, athletics), all heavy armor passives, all undaunted passives, all assault passives, all support passives, all racial passives, alchemy (medicinal use).

Tips & Misc.

Breath of Life is not your primary heal. Ideally you should never have to use it, it’s only there for emergencies. Use Healing Springs instead, it’s much more magicka efficient.

While it may be tempting to attack enemies all the time, avoid doing so. Only use your offensive abilities when you’re certain people don’t need healing.

Make sure the people you play with know that your Extended Ritual synergy removes negative effects from them, as well as healing them.

If you’re surrounded and low on stamina, use Spell Wall and then heavy attack with your sword to restore stamina since the ultimate blocks for you.

Your Aurora Javelin ability knocks people backwards 8 meters. This can be used to knock people into lava in battlegrounds, or for a more hilarious approach, you can knock people off bridges in Cyrodiil, sending them plummeting to their death.
