Introduction
Welcome to DottzGaming.com’s medium armor Stamina Necromancer Build PvP, the Dread Wraith, for the Elder Scrolls Online! This build is intended for all kinds of PvP (both non-CP and CP), from Battlegrounds and Dueling, all the way to the front lines of Cyrodiil.
The Stamina Necromancer is one of the most brutal classes this game has to offer, forgoing sustained damage sources for oppressive burst windows and powerful debuffs. This playstyle is only further encouraged by the raw damage mitigation at the Necromancers disposal, Major Protection, 15% DoT mitigation, and an additional 10% all inclusive mitigation for using Mender, add a SnB + the Minor Protection from Temporal Guard and you are now the ultimate pin cushion.
So with that out of the way, let’s get into this build!
–Please Note: This setup is more of a highly customizable template rather than a set-in-stone build, and I will be mentioning several alternative sets that can obtain very similar results. This build also comes in two distinct playstyles that can be switched with the simple alteration of a few skills and traits (I personally play both styles, and couldn’t pick a favorite for the build, so why not detail both?)–

Gear Explanation
- Clever Alchemist:This set brings phenomenal burst potential, giving you a massive buff to your damage for 20 seconds after you drink a potion. The massive downtime of the set is in my opinion, offset by its ability to be placed on a single bar and the fact that you have 100% control of when it activates.
- Essence Thief: Sustain, Healing, and a fairly impressive boost to your damage output. While the sustain buff from this set is impressive, it’s not necessary for this build to function, so you shouldn’t need to change anything else in the build if you change this set out.
- Blessing of the Potentates: With all our damage mitigation modifiers, why not add 5% more!
- Blood Spawn: Bloodspawn is a fantastic set for any class, and Necromancer is no exception, the additional resistances are amazing, and the ultimate generation allows you to reach those expensive ultimate abilities.
- Spectral Cloak: The DW set out of Blackrose Prison, Spectral Cloak adds the Major Protection buff to Quick Cloak, giving you more reliable uptime on said buff, at the expense of SnB.
Alternate Sets
- Fury: A staple set on my Stamina toons, Fury has been my go too when I don’t have a specific set in mind. Please note that you must keep this set active on both bars to maximize its use.
- Armor of Truth: Truth pairs well with Dizzying Swing, giving you a damage boost for dealing damage to an Off-Balance target. Like Alchemist, this set can be used on the front bar.
- Unchained Aggressor: The new crafted set out of Cyrodiil, Aggressor gives you 6 seconds of Major Berserk after breaking free. Cooldown is 16 seconds.
- Troll King: A beast of a monster set when healing is concerned, just be mindful that this set isn’t useful if you are a Vampire.
- Thurvokun: This set synergises very well with the Necromancer’s already impressive debuffs, adding Minor Maim and Defile to that list (note when running this set, the need for a Frost glyph is alleviated, opening up the option for poisons or other enchantments).

Vampire vs. Mortal
Vampirism: This choice is just down to personal preference, the benefits of Supernatural Recovery and Undeath are huge upsides, while weakness to fire and Fighters Guild abilities can sometimes result in a “rock, paper, scissors” scenario if you don’t play very carefully.
Lycanthropy: Like Vampirism, being a Werewolf is down to personal preference. Backbaring to ultimate can net you some bonus recovery, but at the expense of Minor Protection. The important thing to about Werewolves is that you don’t suffer the weaknesses (Poison and Fighters Guild abilities) unless you actually use the form, which I wouldn’t recommend outside of a 1v1.

Other Important Info
Buff Food
Lava Foot Soup and Sultrice: Lava Foot is in my opinion the best possible food to run on Stamina Necromancer, especially if you run any sets that grant max health or are a brawler race (Nord, Orc, and Imperial). The food buff grants bi-stat food levels of max Stamina and nearly 500 Stamina Recovery.
Mundus
The Warrior: Increased Weapon Damage
(For non-CP) The Serpent – Increased Stamina Recovery
Race
Nord: (The Tanky Option)
My go to for stamina at the moment, Nord is by far the most stat efficient way to increase your resistance without running defensive sets, the ultimate generation is much appreciated, and the increase to health allows me to try things like Lava Foot easily..
Orc: (The Damage Option)
Orc reigns supreme when it comes to speed and damage amongst the brawler playstyle, boasting increased health, stamina, weapon damage, sprint speed, and a little bonus healing for dealing damage. If you don’t mind having a little less resistance compared to Nord, Orc will definitely maximize your potential damage.
Imperial: (The Sustain Option)
Boasting the highest health and stamina pool of any race, Imperial is the best suited race to try Lava Foot builds with, to top it off, Imperial possesses a much appreciated sustain buff that Necromancer could really use.
Potions
- Essence of Weapon Crit: Restore Stamina, Restore Health, Major Savagery (Dragonthorn, Mountain Flower, and Hater Hyacinth)
- Tri-Stat Potion: Restore Health, Mana, and Stamina (Columbine, Bugloss, and Mountain Flower)
Passives
Class (all), Medium Armor (all), Heavy Armor (all except the ones that require to wear 5 pieces), 2Hander (all), SnB (all), Dual Wield (all), Undaunted (all), Raciel (all), Alchemy (Medicinal Use), Assault (all), Support (all except the first)
Resource Management, Rotation & Tips
1) Maintain your Spirit Guardian at all times, this not only gives you a powerful heal, but it also keeps your recovery significantly higher thanks to your passives.
2) Blastbones behaves in a similar fashion to Nightblade’s Merciless Resolve or the Warden’s Shalks, it is your primary burst tool and all of your combos will revolve around landing it, so keep casting it as often as possible to maximize your burst opportunities.
3) Play to your strengths, Necromancer is durable but slow, you don’t have to worry much about taking damage, just make sure you are dishing out burst combos effectively while rotating heals to burn your opponent’s resources if you aren’t able to kill them quickly.
4) When outnumbered, focus on sustain and survival, your main goal is to hold on until your ultimate is ready and you are able to flip the tide of battle.
