Introduction

Welcome to DottzGaming.com’s Magicka Warden PVP build, The Blizzard, for the Elder Scrolls Online! If you are interested in locking down multiple opponents in near constant snares, large damage spikes, and great group utility, give the Blizzard a try!

One of the best aspects of the Magicka warden is having access to a diverse range of gear sets. While this build currently uses (and will detail) bright-throats and amberplasm, substituting necropotence for bright-throats is workable, however I suggest bright-throats for the beefy mag and sustain when paired with the tri-stat drink. Unfortunately, Pirate skeleton is a must for this build, as it serves as a primary defense set allowing you to run a stat and recovery set. as an argonian warden, the minor defile is almost completely negated, so it ultimately serves as a huge defensive buff. also, as the meta right now is zergy, pirate skeleton gives much needed defense in a way no other set can.

Vampire vs. Mortal

This patch, I would NOT recommend being a vampire. Amberplasm, blue betty, and argonian passives are enough for recovery. If a Breton or dark elf, make sure you have your potions passive up enough for medicinal use.

Other Important Info

Spring Loaded Infusion (Max Health, Magicka and Stamina)

Mundus

Apprentice (increased spell damage)

Race

1:Dunmer: Mathematically the best race for this build. The flame resist helps with the increase of staffs used with Summerset, as well as with those pesky MagDKs. Also the increased stamina is great, no stamina = dead.

2: High Elf:  Magicka recovery is a focus on this build as your abilities are fairly costly. Also, the damage increase to all elements makes a noticeable difference in your burst.

3: Argonian: Obviously the master-race of PVP, the potions passive (almost 5K to all resources in addition to whatever resource is returned from potion) makes Argonians a really strong choice. The increased healing and healing received, combined with the increased health, will make you significantly more “tanky” in pvp, at the expense of some damage. I would strongly recommend Argonian for this patch! We don’t run shields so the extra 5% healing and health goes a long way.

Potions

Any magicka potion will do. No need for anything fancy as you get your major prophecy/intellect and minor beserk from your skills.

Argonians should run exclusively tri-stat potions: 6066 health/mag/stam + Argonian potions passive = near 11K to ALL resources when you consume a tri-stat.

Passives

  • Animal Companions: All
  • Winters Embrace: All
  • Green balance: All
  • Light Armor: All
  • Heavy Armor: Resolve, Constitution, Juggernaut
  • Medium Armor: Wind Walker
  • Destro Staff: All
  • Resto Staff: All
  • Undaunted: All
  • Mages Guild: All
  • Assault: All
  • Support: Combat Medic, Battle Resurrection
  • Alchemy: Medicinal Use
  • Racial: All

Resource Management & Rotation

Offensive rotation: Offense focuses entirely on landing your deep fissure for massive damage. In a non-ultimate rotation: Deep Fissure – Cliff Racer – Destructive Reach – Light Attack – Cliff Racer. Also, maintain fetcher infection at ll times as that is one of the best single-target dot in the game.

Ultimate Rotation: This is the real power of the build (and if you’re really feeling good, go bloodspawn for ultimate region..) Deep Fissure – Permafrost – Light Attack – Cliff Racer – Deep Fissure – Light Attack – Cliff Racer. Nothing survives getting hit with a permafrost stun and a deep fissure, insane burst damage and you will find it becomes the biggest kill potential you have, so save ultimate for those big ups windows with permafrost.

Defensive Rotation: No shields sounds crazy, but argonian healing, potions passives, and warden heals are more than enough to survive. Blessing of restoration often gives a 8-9k burst heal, and should be used in emergencies. Primary heal is spamming living trellis for the 5k consistent and low cost heals. You also get passive healing from light attacks and every time a betty or cliff racer dies (spamming betty counts as proc for the heal) you will always feel in control of your healing.

Tips & Misc.

It will feel weird at first running no shields, but trust in your passive heals. even at 40% health, you are in a good spot so don’t panic. Also, with the CP allocation and 1.1K star recovery, roll dodge is a part of the build. Don’t be afraid to roll once or twice in a row if needed!
