How to Add Crystal Slots to Outfits in BDO

If you’re looking to add a little bit of extra power to your character in BDO, then outfit crystals can be a great way to do it. They provide a range of benefits depending on the crystal you choose, from increased speed to crit chance and attack speed. In this video, we’ll go over how to make outfit crystals and how to put them in your outfit.

To start, you’ll need to purchase an equipment tailoring coupon from the Pearl Store, under the Function tab. You also need to buy a dress or suit from the marketplace or craft one yourself. Once you have your coupon and outfit, exchange the outfit using the coupon to get a new outfit that can be used in the costume slot.

Next, you’ll need to heat the outfit to get an outfit crystal. The type of crystal you get will depend on the outfit you used the coupon on. The charts below showcase which crystals come from which outfits (courtesy of Black Desert Foundry):

You can check your current level for these stats by clicking P and checking the character pane.

If I had to recommend one crystal to use, it would be the Swiftness crystal since you can get +5 crit and attack speed from your combat consumables pretty easily. So, I find that the Swiftness crystal provides the best utility.

Now, let’s talk about how to put the crystal in your outfit. You’ll need a black spirit claw, which can be made by combining three black spirit claw pieces which you can get from the marketplace. Once you have the claw, use it with the chest piece of your pearl outfit to create a socket. Finally, put the gem in the outfit slot in the crystal window, and you’re all set.
