Introduction

Welcome to DottzGaming.com’s Stamina Necromancer DPS PvP Build, Swift Death, for the Elder Scrolls Online! This build is intended for PvP of all kinds: Cyrodiil, Imperial City and Battlegrounds.  It can duel decently well, but this build is not specifically meant for dueling. This build can be played in both CP and no-CP pvp as well!

This build is a medium armor setup that has ridiculously high burst damage, fantastic sustain, and enough movement and survivability to stay alive. The focus of this build was to be fast moving and bursty, which was why we chose to go with medium armor for this setup.  Utilizing the bow passives for major expedition on dodge roll, as well Elusive Mist from vampirism allow us to move around quickly on the battlefield. In addition, instead of focusing on mitigation via resistances like most builds traditionally do, I chose to utilize the strengths that the Necromancer skills and passives provide to easily stack percent mitigation.  Those various sources of percent mitigation plus our fantastic movement speed make us tanky enough to be able to move around the battlefield and burst down our targets. So if you like high damage and movement based gameplay, you’re going to absolutely love the Swift Death build!

The write-up below has two seperate versions of the build – one that primarily focuses on melee gameplay with ranged support, while the other focuses more on ranged gameplay with melee support, but both versions have the same thought process. Just pick and choose whichever variant appeals to you more, or gear your character for both to be able to switch things up!

Keep in mind that PvP builds are very personal.  This is what worked for ME.  If you don’t like something about it, change it to fit your playstyle.

Gear Choices

Pirate Skeleton: This set gives an amazing amount of survivabilty to what would otherwise be a squishy character. Not only do we get some resistances on the 1 piece, but the 2 piece bonus gives us a chance for almost 80% uptime on major protection whenever we are taking damage at the cost of being affilicted with Minor Defile. In my opinion, Necromancer’s are very well equipped to deal with this drawback though due to the Curative Curse passive (increases healing by 8% when afflicted with a negative effect). Between that passive and our CP, we are able to basically mitigate the negative effect that comes along with this set.

Shacklebreaker: One of my favorite sets in the game, this is just a staple set to help round out a build’s stats. This gives us access to a great stat pool for our magicka/stamina (so we can run infused/swift on jewelry), stamina/magicka recovery and weapon damage. This allows us to use the magicka skills in our kit when we need them and not worry about being out of magicka.

Caustic Arrow: The Master’s Bow unlocks a ton of damage for any build that can afford to back bar this set. Between this set and the glyph we have on the bow, we add 725 (unbuffed) weapon damage to the target we are attacking, allowing us to burst them down that much quicker.

Clever Alchemist (Bow Version): Clever Alchemist is one of the best one-bar gear sets you can use for PvP since its 5 piece is a buff. Between that Master Bow set bonus, the enchant on the bow, and the flood of weapon damage we get from this set we can boost our unbuffed weapon damage by an absurd amount when we want to go in for our burst combo. This set also gives us 2 lines of health, so it helps increase our tankiness that much more too! Just be sure you are drinking your potion on your greatsword bar!

Hunding’s Rage (Melee Version): A really solid gear set for damage in a stamina PvP build. Hunding’s gives us some more stamina, a solid amount of weapon damage for the 5 piece, and two lines of critical, making this set a great choice for a build like this. Between this set, medium armor and our potions, we have a very respectable crit chance. If we crit on our Onslaught when we are fully buffed up, even the tankiest targets in the game are going to have to respect our burst damage.

Attributes

Vampire vs. WW vs. Mortal

For this build we are playing as a vampire primarily for access to Elusive Mist. Elusive Mist is a great tool for a squishier build like this, getting us out of roots, granting major expedition and giving us a 75% damage reduction. This also allows our stam pool to “take a break” and regenerate while we kite our target. Mist combined with proper dodge rolls and Draining Shots is the primary way in which this build survives.

Tips & Misc.

  • Maintain your Summoner’s Armor, Spirit Guardian and Rally to make sure you have your major brutality, mitigation and resistances up at all times.
  • Maintain Poison Injection on your target to make sure you’re getting the Master Bow bonues as well as the weapon damage enchant.
  • While we have a fair bit of tankiness, this is overall a squishy build compared to what you normally see from me. Your primary survival comes from movement, which means a ton of dodge rolls and intelligent use of mist form. Do keep in mind while in mist form, you cant be healed. So you’re going to want to use mist preemptively to kite, swap cancel out of it into your heals to make sure you receive healing, not the other way around.
  • (Melee version) Start with your Blastbones, and as it charges to your target, draining shot, swap cancel and gap close to them with Critical Rush. They will be CC’d, take a ton of damage from your Crit Rush and Blastbones, and have major defile. After this, hit them with Onslaught and use Executioner if necessary.
  • (Bow version) Start with your Blastbones, and as it charges to your target, use your lethal arrow, draining shot, swap cancel into your potion and hit them with Onslaught (use Executioner if necessary).
