Introduction

Welcome to DottzGaming.com’s Magicka Sorcerer build PvP, The Magister, for the Elder Scrolls Online! This build is intended for PvP of all kinds: battlegrounds, Cyrodiil, dueling, and Imperial City. This build can be played in both CP and no-CP pvp!

Magicka Sorcerer has traditionally been one of the best PvP classes in ESO, however it has actually been struggling recently to maintain it’s place in the PvP meta. With that being said, the classic high maximum magicka MagSorc build is still very solid and provides a well-rounded build profile, with great mobility, damage, survivability and sustain! The build packs a punch, and is able to deal a ton of damage to take down your opponents all while sustaining your resources appropriately!

Keep in mind that PvP builds are very personal. This is what worked for ME. If you don’t like something about it, change it to fit your playstyle.

Main Bar – Destruction Staff: Wield Soul, Haunting Curse, Crystal Fragments, Inner Light, Streak, Energy Overload

Back Bar – Destruction Staff: Critical Surge, Hardened Ward, Bound Aegis, Elemental Drain, Dark Conversion, Temporal Guard

Scribing: To properly setup Wield Soul for this, use a Shock Damage focus script, the Anchorite’s Cruelty signature script, and the Vitality affix script. This will cause the skill to deal shock damage, deal oblivion damage over time and give you Major Vitality. Click here to see the tool-tip.

Vampire vs. Mortal

We play as a stage 3 vampire for this build to gain access to undeath, which gives us a TON of damage mitigation.

Champion Points

The list below showcases the order in which champion points should be acquired, the number of points you need to place into that perk and whether or not it needs to be slotted in the CP bar. The Warfare CP perks increase your damage and mitigation and are the most important, the Fitness tree has some miscellaneous sustain and defensive perks and the Craft tree has crafting and non-combat bonuses. The Craft CP points are entirely customizable to however you want, or you can follow the list below.

Other Important Info

Buff Food

Bewitched Sugar Skulls: Maximum Health, Magicka and Stamina

Mundus

The Mage: Increased Magicka

Race

  • Breton: Best option for sustain and my personal choice for the build since it helps off-set the cost increase from vampire. This race is a great option for the cost reduction, magicka recovery and extra magicka.
  • Dark Elf: Best option for damage – gives extra maximum magicka/stamina, as well as some additional spell damage.

Potions

Essence of Health (Restore Health, Magicka and Stamina)
Bugloss, Columbine and Mountain Flower

Passives

  • Class: All
  • Destruction Staff: All except tri-focus
  • Restoration Staff: All
  • Light Armor: All
  • Heavy Armor: All
  • Medium Armor: All
  • Undaunted: All
  • Vampire: All except the last passive.
  • Assault: All
  • Support: Combat Medic, Battle Resurrection
  • Alchemy: Medicinal Use
  • Racial: All
  • Mage’s Guild: All
  • Psijic Order (Clairvoyance and Concentrated Barrier)

Resource Management & Rotation

When going on the offensive, your goal combo is to setup Overload, Curse and Crystal Frags to hit at roughly the same time. Initiating with streak when you have it up is a good way to start off the combo since it is unblockable and undodgeable.

When playing defensively, you’re going to want to kite, streak, apply your shield, and use Dark Conversion in order to heal yourself back up. If you know you’re going to take a big hit, you can also use Bound Aegis and block on your back-bar.

Tips & Misc.

Dont be afraid to kite in a fight. Streak is incredibly hard for a lot of classes to keep up with; use that to your advantage. I’ve found it much more beneficial to apply shields and streak away than to just continually apply shields to try and tank out the damage. Use the superior mobility of the magsorc to your advantage.
