This is the 8th video and guide of my Dungeon Walkthrough series for the Elder Scrolls Online! The dungeon covered in this video and written guide is Darkshade Caverns 2.  This guide will cover everything you could want to know about the dungeon, such as notable gear sets, boss mechanics, and more!

  • Dungeon Name: Darkshade Caverns 2
  • Zone: Deshaan
  • Difficulty: Normal
  • Party Composition: 4 (1 tank, 1 healer, 2 dps)
  • Quests: What Was Lost
  • Level Unlocked: 45
  • Gear Sets: Armor of Truth, Netch’s Touch, and Strength of Automaton
  • Other (Achievements, Other points of note): Achievement for completing – Darkshade Caverns 2 Vanquisher
  • Story: Deshaan’s largest kwama mine is currently under contention for ownership, and a Mages Guild researcher needs your help destroying a dangerous Dwemer mechanism within the ruins beneath the mine before it corrupts Deshaan.
  • Bosses and Mechanics
    • The Fallen Foreman
      • There are a lot of adds surround the boss, handle them first.
      • The boss has a heavy attack that should be interrupted.
      • The boss will shoot a line of fire out of their staff that rotates clockwise, simply avoid this.
    • Transmuted Hive Lord
      • The boss has 2 adds that surround him, I would recommend killing them first.
      • The boss has a heavy attack that should be blocked.
      • If the adds are alive for long enough, they’ll burrow down into the ground and give the boss a damage shield and cause him to do AoE damage – break the shield to end this AoE.
    • Grubull the Transmuted
      • This boss will not take much damage while he is floating around due to the shield he has on him.
      • The boss will teleport around the room and fire an AoE attack below him. Do not stand in this or you’ll take damage and be stunned.
      • The boss will summon adds all around the room. These adds need to be killed or he will keep summoning them. If you don’t kill these adds, you’ll also never get the boss to lower his shield.
      • When the adds are dead, the boss will fall to the ground, vulnerable to DPS. This is the time during the fight where you can deal full damage to the boss.
      • Rinse and repeat the above until the boss is dead.
    • The Engine Guardian
      • The boss has 3 phases: Fire, Poison and Lightning
        • Fire
          • Puts AoE fire around the room.
          • Shoots fire out from underneath him.  If you’re melee, you’re going to want to stand back or you’ll take heavy damage from this.
        • Poison
          • Players get a poison dot put on them that needs to be healed through.
          • If you pull the levers in the middle, this dot will stop though.
        • Lightning
          • The boss will shoot lightning at a party member that does more damage the closer you are to the boss.
      • The boss summons Dwarven Spheres – which are ranged – throughout the fight.  Line of sight these adds so they’ll come to you and you can DPS them with ease. They deal pretty good damage so I would not just ignore them.
