Introduction

Welcome to DottzGaming.com’s Magicka Warden DPS PvE build, Frost, for the Elder Scrolls Online! This build is intended for PvE content of all kinds: trials, vet maelstrom arena, dungeons and solo adventuring! This build is centered around the frost aspects of the warden, and fully embraces ice to deal its damage. While this isnt your stereotypical “meta” magicka warden and is more of a themed build, it’s still going to be very effective and is veteran trials viable (at least for the easier vet trials). This build is also extremely easy to use and has a very basic rotation since a lot of our skills are focused around giving us passive damage boosts, so it is extremely new player friendly. Plus, let’s be honest, a purely frost themed magicka warden is pretty dang cool, and this build uses frost to its maximum potential! If you’ve always wanted to turn your warden into an ice mage, this is the perfect build for you!

This is a theorycrafted build and has NOT been tested yet.  This means it is not fully optimized and tuned yet, but is the blueprint for the build and explains the thought process behind it.

Main Bar – Frost Staff: Force Pulse, Living Trellis, Blue Betty, Bird of Prey, Inner Light, Northern Storm

Back Bar – Frost Staff: Winter’s Revenge, Elemental Blockade, Harness Magicka, Channeled Acceleration, Inner Light, Elemental Rage

Alternative Skills

  1. If you don’t have Summerset, feel free to substitute Rearming Trap in for Channeled Acceleration.
  2. If you feel you don’t need the heal from Living Trellis or want higher damage, you could use Fetcher Infection which would increase your single target damage (if you don’t mind deviating a bit from the frost theme of the build).

Vampire vs. Werewolf vs. Mortal

For this build I recommend playing a vampire.  I feel that when playing a magicka warden in PvE, the benefits from having vampirism outweigh the negatives.  It isn’t mandatory, but I’d use it.

Resource Management & Rotation

Activate Blue Betty and Channeled Acceleration pre-fight.

Winter’s Revenge > Light Attack > Elemental Blockade > Weapon Swap > Light Attack > 5x Force Pulse (Light Attack between each skill use) > Weapon Swap > Restart

  • Refresh Channeled Acceleration whenever it wears off before you weapon swap back to your front bar. On that rotation, use 4x Force Pulse instead of 5.
  • Refresh Blue Betty whenever it wears off. Whenever you have to refresh Blue Betty, use Force Pulse 4x in that rotation instead of 5x.
  • Use Living Trellis & Harness Magicka as needed.
  • Your ultimate choice is going to be based on the situation, but you should use it whenever it comes up (take out 1x-2x Force Pulse when you do). If you need the highest damage ultimate, use Elemental Rage. If you need big damage but also want to grant allies major protection for some extra defense, use Northern Storm.
