Introduction

Welcome to DottzGaming.com’s Dragon Knight Healer PvE Build, the Dentist, for the Elder Scrolls Online! This build is intended for PvE of all kinds: normal trials, veteran dungeons and general PvE.  This is the build that I, Wigglytooth, use for my Dragon Knight healer. There were many variations of skills, attributes, and equipment used in the leveling process.  I will present what I used mostly, but feel free to change things to suit your needs.

NOTE: Grab any magicka gear to start.  Put points into Stone fist and morph to Obsidian Shard ASAP.  This will be your big heal for quite a long time.  Grab a resto staff and practice healing instances.  Go to Wayrest Sewers and get yourself a set of Combat physician.  I used Combat Phys (rings, weapons) and Redistributor set (armor) until I was able to wear my monster helm. Transmutation set works very well if you find yourself running out of Magicka. Sanctuary from Banished Cells is also a good choice. For monster helms my first choice there was Chokethorn (med and heavy), and finally the Earthgore once you can heal Vet Bloodroot Forge.

Attributes

All points into magicka.  Put into health as needed if you are lower than about 18k-20k HP.

Front bar – Restoration Staff:

  1. Cauterize –  With under 2000 Magicka cost it’s basically a free cast. This can be spammed with almost 3000 Mag Rcvy almost endlessly. (35 times to be exact) before I run out of Magicka healing for approx 5000 to 7000 crit.  It has a 15m range so you need to be a bit close to your targets. Plus the spell crit is nice.
  2. Healing Springs – The goto for aoe healing.  When you get 3 people standing together, you can spam this for days.
  3. Healing Ward – The big save, use this as your emergency heal as Earthgore will save most people every 30 seconds automatically.
  4. Energy Orbs – Decent heal, gives party resources and healing with Twilight’s Remedy, what’s not to like?  Try not to spam them too much, you will run out of mana quickly.  Three at a time is all that is needed in dungeons.
  5. Combat Prayer – More buffs! Minor Berserk, Minor Ward, and Minor Resolve for 8 seconds.  Weave this into your rotation.
  6. ULT – Magma Shell – I use this to rezz people while standing in bad stuff.  Take a max of 3% of my damage per hit for 10 seconds it helps a ton.

Back bar – Restoration Staff:

  1. Cauterize – Keeping the crit and single target healing spam is a must.
  2. Elemental Blockade – For the Off-balance debuff.
  3. Elemental Drain – Giving Major Breach and restores group Magicka.
  4. Choking Talons – This is my flex spot.  I use Talons for group control and gives the group another chance for popping a Twilight Remedy synergy.  I have used Guard in this spot as well with good results.
  5. Igneous Weapons – Why I like DK healers.  BUFFS! You and your group get Major Sorc & Major Brutality for 40 seconds AND Minor Brutality (from Mountain’s blessing in the Earth Heart tree) for 20 seconds. Wait! There’s more!  Low on stamina? Need to dodge? Spam this to regen 990 stam from the “Helping Hands” passive in the Earthen Heart tree. Keep this up ALWAYS and groups will love you.
  6. Ultimate – Aggressive Horn – It’s all about the buffs.

Tips & Misc.

  1. DK healing can be challenging until you get Cauterize, focus on using your resto staff skills.  Using Healing Springs and Obsidian Shard and Healing Ward you will have the basic tools you need to heal through any normal dungeon.
  2. Make sure to keep Igneous Weapons up at all times.
  3. Try to stay close to your group.  Most of your heals are close range.
  4. If using the Combat Physician set, and your mana regen can support it, switch to the Thief mundus for a better chance at proccing that awesome shield.
  5. If you cannot see the target you need to heal for some reason, spam Cauterize.  It is multidirectional and will fire behind you.
  6. I use Martial Knowledge’s 4 pc primarily for the spell damage.  If you can find a set that does the same thing, go for it.

Remember, this is a build guide to help others.  Using these strategies work for ME.  Please use what works for you as you see fit.  ESO is a game about choices.
