Introduction

Welcome to Dottzgaming.com’s Stamina Nightblade DPS PvE Build, Y’ffre’s Blade, for the Elder Scrolls Online! This build is intended for Dungeons and general PvE content.

Fantastic at both single target and AOE damage, Nightblades have great sustain with a skill like Leeching Strikes and the ability to light and/or heavy attack weave their spammable, Surprise Attack, without losing any damage; and with a cheap ultimate and ultimate restoring passive you’ll find yourself using Incapacitating Strike as often as if it were a regular ability. As you’ll notice, the gear setup is very similar to other stamina builds on the site. Hunding’s and Spriggan’s is a classic, fail-safe set up for all Stamina classes and the Nightblade is no exception. This build works very well in solo application and dungeons, and with some personal adjustments, for tackling Maelstrom Arena!

For the Beginner
You’ve taken the first step and picked up a Stamina Nightblade. Awesome! If you’ve played a stamina class before you will find it perhaps similar in regards to the sorts of skills and gear you will be using. If you’re new to the game, welcome to Stamblade! A somewhat challenging start compared to other classes but that’s a hurdle easily surpassed. If you have joined the guild on whatever platform you play on and have access to a 6-trait crafter there or are one yourself, you can jump right into using the main set in the final build which is Hunding’s Rage. They can also craft the rest of the gear in the set Night Mother’s Gaze. If you do not have access to such a crafter Spriggan’s Thorns is a dropped set from Bangkorai so if your adventuring happens to take you there, try and pick up a few pieces! Running dungeons will also net you some jewelry of Agility. If you have the Orsinium DLC, the dropped set Briarheart is also a decent option.  You will note there is no defined chart for the beginner setup. The leveling process is your time to learn the class and if you are new to Tamriel, to learn the game in general. Pick up sets with stamina bonuses and enjoy the experience as you learn your (hopefully, new favourite) class!

Getting Started
So you’ve just hit 160 Champion Points. What’s next? Time to start looking at monster sets. The easiest piece to acquire is a Kra’gh’s Helmet which comes from arguably the easiest Veteran dungeon in game – Fungal Grotto I. Once you’ve gathered enough keys and prayed to the RNG overlords you can start opening the corresponding chest for the shoulder piece. Until then, using a Hunding’s Rage or Spriggan’s Thorns shoulder piece is fine. The one piece bonus from Kra’gh’s is very beneficial to lower CP players who don’t have enough to invest into that tree. Other options for a 1 piece bonus are Selene’s for extra stamina or Bloodspawn for more stamina recovery.

Notes: Play around with the enchants on the jewelry, make sure you feel comfortable with your recovery. If you’re using Braised Rabbit with Spring Vegetables since it is cheaper, more recovery glyphs might be the better option.

Stamina Nightblade PvE Build – Final
Gear Slot Set Weight Trait Enchant Acquisition

Off-Hand 1 Hunding’s Rage Dagger Infused Weapon Damage Crafted
Weapon 2 Maelstrom or Hunding’s Rage Bow Nirnhoned Damage Health Poisons Maelstrom Arena or Crafted

Notes: You can play with the enchants on the jewelry. I personally prefer one recovery glyph and two damage but to each their own. If you are capable of acquiring a Maelstrom Bow that is the best option; a Hunding’s Bow in the meantime is still good.

Attributes

If you’re feeling particularly squishy, 10 into Health and 54 into Stamina, Otherwise all 64 into Stamina. 16-17k health is the sweet spot.

Back bar – Bow: Leeching Strikes, Rearming Trap, Poison Injection, Razor Caltrops, Endless Hail, Incapacitating Strike

Notes: For solo play, swap Rearming Trap for Resolving Vigor. If you’re really in need of heals you can also swap Caltrops for Reaper’s Mark under the Assassination tree, though the heal comes from the death of the marked enemy.
– Replace Rending Slashes with Steel Tornado when you need more AOE.
– Optional: the Bow ultimate Ballista is also incredibly powerful!

Resource Management & Rotation

Our Resource management comes primarily from the skill Leeching Strikes and light attack weaving as well as heavy attacks when necessary. As mentioned already, figure out what sort of recovery and weapon damage glyphs on your jewelry best suits you.

Begin by activating your buffs: Leeching Strikes, Relentless Focus and Deadly Cloak. Leeching Strikes is the main sustain here so be sure to reapply it as soon as you see the 2nd funnel animation overhead and your Stamina has been restored. While Relentless Focus doesn’t need to be reapplied after using the Assassin’s Will proc, the buffs from the skill itself will fall off so remember to refresh regardless. Deadly Cloak is our damage mitigation and also a minor form of AOE, keep this up at all times!

After your buffs are up, put down a Rearming Trap, Endless Hail, light attack, Caltrops, light attack, Poison Injection and bar swap to use Rending Slashes, light attack, and start the Surprise Attack spam. Light attack weave in between Surprise Attacks until Endless Hail falls off at which point switch back to your bow bar and reapply everything on that bar. Rinse and repeat. It’s a fairly easy rotation, you just need to be very mindful of your buffs. Remember to use your pots as well, especially if you’re using the Weapon Power ones as they give you a neat damage boost. Use the Assassin’s Will proc from Relentless Focus whenever it’s up and start counting your light attacks to work towards being able to pop two spectral bows within the time of the skill being active.

The great thing about Incapacitating Strike is it’s very cheap and hits hard. With the Catalyst passive, this Ultimate is up at the very least once per rotation so use it. Flawless Dawnbreaker is slotted on the front bar for more weapon damage from the Fighter’s Guild passive, however, feel free to use it as well!

Tips & Misc.

A thank you to the poor Argonian fellow in the guild house :3
