Introduction

Welcome to DottzGaming.com’s Magicka Nightblade DPS PvE Build, the Eye of the Storm, for the Elder Scrolls Online! This build is intended for veteran dungeons and general PvE, but with a slight alteration to the gear could also  be used in a trials environment.  This build focuses heavily about making you the center of your damage, putting yourself in the front lines inside the eye of the storm!

While most magicka nightblade builts utilize Elemental Rage, this one tries to mix it up and build around Eye of the Storm (since Dottz is using EoTS for another build).  Combining it with Grothdarr, the AoE damage around the Magblade reaches insane levels!  The playstyle is very fun and puts you in the center of the action, mowing down packs of mobs with ease!

Magicka Nightblades boast strong sustained DPS in both AoE and single target situations.  They have a very cheap spammable skill, a good ranged execute, and strong AoE through Twisted Path, Elemental Blockade, and Eye of the Storm.  Nightblades also have great ultimate generation due to Soul Harvest and the Catalyst passive.  With the heals coming in from swallow soul, siphoning attacks, and having harness magicka, this build also maintains a good level of survivability!

Possible Alteration:  If you want to play a complete ranged version of this build, you can change Eye of the Storm to Elemental Rage, and swap out Grothdarr for Valkyn Skoria. I highly encourage you to run what is recommended though, and use Eye of the Storm and Grothdarr!  It’s a fun playstyle that gets you up and close to the action!

NOTE: Until you get the Moondancer pieces and the VMA staff, simply use Willpower jewelry and any staves.

Main Bar – Fire Staff: Swallow Soul, Siphoning Attacks, Merciless Resolve, Impale, Inner Light, Eye of the Storm

Back Bar – Lightning Staff: Crippling Grasp, Twisting Path, Elemental Blockade, Harness Magicka, Inner Light, Soul Harvest

Vampire vs. Werewolf vs. Mortal

You are playing a vampire for this build.  I feel that when playing a magicka nightblade in PvE, at least from my experiences in veteran dungeons, the benefits from having vampirism outweigh the negatives.  It isn’t mandatory, but I use it.

Resource Management & Rotation

AoE:  Apply Merciless Resolve and Siphoning Attacks pre-fight.  Start on your back bar, and use Elemental Blockade > Light Attack > Crippling Grasp > Light Attack > Twisting Patch > Weapon Swap > (Eye of the Storm if Available) > Lightning Heavy Attacks. Swap back to back bar about a second or two before elemental blockade ends and repeat the rotation.  Reapply merciless and siphoning attacks as needed.

ST: Apply Merciless Resolve and Siphoning Attacks pre-fight.  Start on your back bar, and use Elemental Blockade > Light Attack > Crippling Grasp > Light Attack > Twisting Patch > Weapon Swap > (Eye of the Storm if Available) > Light Attack > Swallow Soul > (Assassin’s Will when it procs).  Keep using Light Attack > Swallow Soul and Assassin’s Will procs until it’s time to reapply your AoE and DoTs, so swap back to back bar about a second or two before elemental blockade ends and repeat the rotation.  Reapply the Merciless Resolve after you shoot the the Spectral bow twice.  Reapply Siphoning Attacks as soon as the buff runs out – this makes sure you get the burst of magicka – in order to keep yourself sustained.  When the boss is at less than 25% HP, replace Swallow Soul with Impale in the rotation.
